Portland City Grill

We celebrated out 10 year anniversary here and had a fantastic start to our evening. Our server Chris was very friendly and attentive and made some great reccomendations we both enjoyed. The lobser was however not worth the price it was hardly warm when i got it and a bit rubbery. All of the appetizers and drinks were to die for.

Chose this restaurant for our 30th anniversary celebration. Fitting with 30th floor amazing views. We ordered from the big pink 3 course menu. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend. I would say the only downside was once our server realized we weren’t going to order all the extras, drinks, bone butter luge, mushrooms, she basically ignored us. Even with that in mind, we had a great time in a beautiful space enjoying each other and wonderful food.

What a beautiful place here they got in Portland. Me and Marty had such a fun time when we stopped in to town. We always wanted to come up here for the view but holy cow everything was perfect. Mitchel the bartender was so sweet and knew every question we asked like a pro. The Lobster was so big! 10/10

My husband and I came here for our 23rd Anniversary. We arrived at 4:15 and proceeded to take the elevator in a downtown office building to the 30th floor. Stepping out into the restaurant was quite a view! We were promptly seated at a table by the window, as requested and ordered our drinks. The service was quick to respond so we ordered our appetizers. We had the beef carpaccio and the Thai brussel sprouts. I also ordered the beet salad and my husband the apple Gorgonzola salad. For mains I ordered the jambalaya and he had deer. Honestly, the food was above average as was the service. The brussel sprouts had a really good unique flavor, a bit on the greasy side, both salads were good, the beet had diced red and yellow beets with soft goat cheese on the side. The beef carpaccio neither of us cared for. It had some sort of mayonnaise on it which was not tasty. My jambalaya was quite good with rockfish and very spicy. My husband liked his deer, me, not so much because it tasted gamey. Preparation for deer is everything and I had it in Austria where it’s the absolute best! We were both full so we didn’t order dessert, but they brought us a complimentary piece of red velvet cake and it tasted like a sweet brick. Not good at all. Tasted like bad store bought cake. Overall I’d give this restaurant a thumbs up but not for someone who’s very discriminating. The view is the best attribute to this restaurant.

My totally perfect ten outta ten girlfriend, which is completely real, and I dined in for our anniversary. We had the eye of the round ribeye, which slapped hard at a medium rare. I had the salmon and risotto, which packed a ton of flavor. And the tuna roll for a sampler. It all was very good and I’d recommend coming and trying these guys out. Drinks were also well done. The staff was kind and took very good care of us.

This restaurant was a truly exciting experience. It was very "out of the ordinary" and we had a wonderful time. The service was exceptional; we couldn't have asked for a better server. The ambience was electric; everyone was excited to be there and having such a good time. The menu had a wide variety of items with prices for every budget so that anyone can enjoy eating there. I will say that the beet salad was exquisite. However, the lobster bisque tasted as if the roux was scorched and the clam chowder was very bland. The crab cakes with chorizo was not only an uncomplimentary combination but the chorizo was burned. I will reiterate that we had a very positive and memorable experience, and I would do it all over again, but the food just wasn't up to the standards I expect for a restaurant of this caliber. I would definitely give it another shot if I didn't live 2500 miles away. The kitchen staff may have just been having a bad day.

Great experience in Portland with their restaurant on the 30th floor. Super views and great atmosphere made for a wonderful experience. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the seafood trio was amazing. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. It was definitely the best experience we had on our trip!

A local Portlander whom I met at a conference recommended this place, and now I’m convinced she is an angel sent from God. Talk about an intoxicating vibe of pleasantry and good vibes, you MUST sit near the window. My crew and I were fortunate to come during happy hour. We got to sample many dishes without having to sell our bodily organs to fund the evening shenanigans. The Parmesan bowl for the tomato and artichoke bruschetta was perfectly crisp and tasted well. Spicy tuna roll and pickled ginger complimented each other perfectly. My French dip slider melted in my mouth like butter. I topped it all off with two perfectly crafted Amalfi Stroll drinks, the passion fruit puree and red grapefruit components worked well together and brought it all home for me. Honestly, I didn’t even want to go at first but I’m very grateful I did. Definitely a foodie highlight for my time here in Oregon, I won’t forget you and I aspire to comeback.
